-Tip for using the keyboard-HELP FOR USING THE KEYBOARD - By Brenda Gourd My husband was having difficulty with the keyboard. All the keys look alike. I used craft paints to identify specific keys for him so he could locate them easier. Each arrow key is a different color (red, blue, green, and yellow) The ENTER keys are black, SPACEBAR is purple, and he knows to keep looking left until he sees the orange Q,A, and Z keys. To further enhance this, I matched the sides of his monitor with colored poster board to his arrow keys. Now his he able to better work with his programs and tells me that it has really helped. Editors Note: the newest version of the Bungalow Software programs for speech therapy include consistent color coding for all programs. So, for example, the down arrow is always blue, and the enter key is always yellow. Brenda color-coded her keys before we came out with this new feature. GOT A TIP? Email it to info@BungalowSoftware.com____________________________________ 5. CLINICAL CORNER
- New tool predicts stroke outcome -Scientists have developed a new tool that may help physicians predict, during the first several hours a stroke patient is in the hospital, the degree of recovery the patient will eventually experience. It uses three factors for the accurate prediction of stroke outcome: measurement of brain injury using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); the patient's score on the NIH stroke scale; and the time in hours from the onset of symptoms until the MRI brain scan is performed.
